This is why SP Marching offers a wide range of custom snare beds that are available to mount on all our drum series.
Our marching drums come standard with the traditional high quality 20 strand Snappy snare steel wires with brass endplates. These are mounted with nylon weather resistant straps to the drum.
Besides this standard snare wire, SCS wires gives the customer a choice between 5 custom wires as an alternative.
These SCS wires will completely change the definition, durability and timbre of the marching drum using stainless steel as the base material.
This way we can create a sound that perfectly matches the sound demand and style of the Marchingband or Corps of Drums.

Uncoated stainless steel cable wires produces a brighter sound than coated cable, but is drier and more definable than the standard snappy snares.

Blue coated stainless steel cable wires produces a darker definable timbre than the uncoated and replicates the sound of traditional gut.
